The challenge

Grace Gymnastics is a rhythmic gymnastics academy in North Carolina. It grows by enrolling kids into groups, and the people who decide are parents. A parent looks for a class close to home, checks the schedule, looks at the coaches and the atmosphere, and only then brings a child to a first lesson. Most of them do this on a phone, in a few spare minutes between other things.

The site had to answer four questions in about a minute: where, when, with whom, and how to sign up. If the schedule sits in a PDF, coaches get one line each, and the only way to book is a phone call during business hours, interested families drop off halfway. The site is in English, written for a US audience, and had to look clean on both phone and desktop.

What I built

I built a custom WordPress theme with only the sections the academy needs: schedule, coaches, gallery, about, contacts and a booking form. The path from first visit to booking a trial class is short, and the booking button stays close to the schedule on every screen.

The admin area is set up around these exact sections, so the academy updates the schedule, coaches and photos on its own, without a developer. The form is built on Contact Form 7, with spam protection. The project went from start to a live site on grace-gymnastics-nc.com in one month.

Key features

  • Class schedule — days, times, programs and age groups in a clear layout that reads on a phone without zooming, with a link to booking right next to it.
  • Coach profiles — photo, name, experience and specialty for each coach, so parents know who will train their child.
  • Achievements gallery — photos from classes, performances and awards on a responsive grid that loads quickly on mobile.
  • Trial class booking — a short Contact Form 7 form that sends requests to the studio's email and works 24/7, not just during business hours.
  • About page — the academy's story, values and approach, which builds trust before the first visit.
  • Contacts and location — address, phone, email and a map, formatted the way a US audience expects and repeated in the footer.
  • Mobile-first layout — sections, buttons and the form adapt to any screen and are easy to use by touch.
  • Self-service content — the studio edits the schedule, coaches, gallery and texts from the WordPress admin.
