The challenge

AUX Padel sells padel equipment in Cyprus: rackets, balls, apparel and accessories. Padel is a fast-growing racket sport, and the brand needed a real online sales channel, not a business-card site. Without an online store, demand was handled by hand through messages and calls. Shoppers couldn't see the range, compare models or place an order on their own.

The store is aimed at a foreign audience, so language is a matter of trust. Shoppers in Cyprus expect a familiar language version, correct product descriptions and easy payment with local and international cards. That set two core tasks: full localization of the site and online card payments. The brand also had to run the store itself: adding products, changing prices and stock, and publishing promotions without calling a developer each time.

What I built

I built the store on WordPress and WooCommerce, then added custom PHP where the standard settings were not enough: catalog setup, filter behavior, checkout changes and the payment gateway integration. Stripe takes card payments directly on the site, and payment status syncs with the order in the WooCommerce admin.

The whole store is localized with WPML, including product pages, categories and the dynamic WooCommerce parts of cart and checkout. The data structure is set up so routine work doesn't need code changes. The project took 4 months.

Key features

  • Sports equipment catalog — categories for rackets, balls, apparel and accessories, with images, prices, stock status and related products.
  • Filters — narrow products by type, category, price range and availability, working together with catalog sorting.
  • Product pages — image gallery, description, specs, price and add-to-cart, fully localized for the target market.
  • Cart and checkout — WooCommerce checkout cut down to the steps needed to get from product to payment.
  • Stripe payments — card payments on a secure form on the site, for local and international cards.
  • WPML localization — interface, products, categories and checkout texts translated consistently across the whole buying path.
  • Store admin — the brand manages products, prices, stock, orders and promotions on its own.
